An overnight domestic violence stabbing sends one brother to the hospital and one to jail.
Last night, Spokane Police Department patrol officers responded to a fight between adult brothers. Alcohol played a factor which resulted in one male receiving an injury consistent with being stabbed.
On May 22nd, 2018 around 9:00 pm, officers responded to a domestic violence stabbing at an apartment near 3000 E. Upriver Drive. A physical fight involving 44 year-old Dominic M. Canady and his intoxicated brother nearly became a fatal incident after Canady allegedly stabbed his older sibling.
The victim had a wound consistent with being stabbed and it was initially believed to be life threatening. The victim was transported to an area hospital.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene. They sought and were granted a search warrant for the residence. A knife believed to have been used in the incident was recovered.
Probable cause was established to arrest Canady for Assault 2nd Degree Domestic Violence. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail. #2018-20096167
