Reference to the Silver Alert, the Spokane Police Department was informed that Mr. McMorris was located in Metaline Falls Washington and is safe. Thank you for all tips that were called in.
Original release 7/24/21:
Spokane Police Department is requesting the assistance from the public to help locate elderly male with Alzheimer’s and dementia who left from his South Hill residence.
On 07/24/2021, at about 1134 A.M. the Spokane Police Department received a call about an elderly male who went missing from his South Hill residence. The male, identified as 79 year old Gary McMorris, left in his vehicle to an unknown destination. The vehicle in question is a 2005 Chevy Impala, Washington State license plate AFS1169.
According to family, Mr. McMorris suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s. The family stated he might try to go to Newport Washington but they are unsure. Family stated he left the residence around 6PM yesterday headed towards the casino. His vehicle was last seen at 6AM this morning on Hayford Rd headed eastbound. The family doesn’t know what he was wearing last.
If you see the vehicle or Mr. McMorris please call crime check at 456-2233. A silver alert has been activated.
