SPD arrests man for drive-by shooting and assault after altercation at a neighborhood grocery store
On 5/14/2023 SPD officers responded to a shooting call at the 1900 block of W. Sunset Blvd. An employee of a grocery store reported shots fired in the parking lot in the early morning hours, around 1:30am. Surveillance video showed a man shooting toward a car in the parking lot. Employees noted the man seen in the video returned to the store a short time later and when asked what was going on, the man told employees he shot at the tires of a car after an occupant pulled a gun on him.
Officers were able to identify the man and probable cause was established for Assault 1st Degree and Drive By Shooting. On 5/16/2023, members of SPD’s Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) and the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) arrested Jordan C. Bozzi - 32, who was considered armed and dangerous, and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on those charges. The weapon believed used in the shooting was retrieved from the business where Bozzi was apprehended. At this writing, no one has come forward as a shooting victim.
