On 7/23/24 shortly before 5pm, SPD responded to several calls of gunshots fired in the area of Lincoln St. and Cleveland Ave.  One caller reported a number of people heard multiple gunshots and another caller said shots were fired from a black vehicle which then fled. No victims were located. About a half hour later, officers were again dispatched to the area on another report of shots fired from a black vehicle that also fled the scene. Responding officers found a bullet hole in a shed and several bullet holes in a home in the 2900 block of N. Lincoln and located shell casings. Witnesses report a man running down the street from the area of Lincoln and Cleveland who got into a white vehicle. The investigation suggests two parties may have been shooting at one another before leaving separately in the white vehicle and the black vehicle.  Further investigation brought officers to a house in the 600 block of E. Lacrosse Ave where the black vehicle was located. A male exited the black vehicle and entered another vehicle parked next to it. Officer detained the male, along with a number of others. A firearm was located in the vehicle. (Case #2024-20147566).

Travis B. Williams (25) was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on 1 count of 2nd Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. He is scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow. The investigation into who was involved in the shooting is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.

On 7/24/24 just before 1am, officers responded to a motel in the 1500 block of S. Rustle St. on a call of a gun shot from one of the rooms. Upon arrival officers found the room empty but located a bullet hole on the ceiling and a shell casing. Officers learned that a number of people were seen fleeing from the room after the gun shot. Officers located one of them who was not particularly forthcoming with information. It does not appear that anyone was shot and no suspects have been identified. (Case #2024-20147834)
