There will be a public hearing with the City Council on Monday, December 14, 2020, at 6:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, Lower Level of City Hall, 808 West Spokane Falls Boulevard, Spokane, Washington.(*NOTE) This public hearing is for an application by the City of Spokane for a Street Name Change from the City of Spokane Planning and Development Services Department to change a portion of Shelby Ridge Street to Aviary Court. This public hearing is to take testimony on one of the proposed 2019 Street Name Changes proposed by the City of Spokane.
*Note: Pursuant to Governor Jay Insleeās Twelfth Updated Proclamation 20-28.12, on November 10, 2020, all public meetings subject to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 42.30 RCW, are to be held remotely and the in-person attendance requirement in RCW 42.30.030 has been suspended until at least through December 7, 2020. It is possible the December 14, 2020, City Council meeting may be held virtually. If the December 14, 2020, City Council meeting is held virtually, there will be an opportunity for public comment to be taken virtually. A notice containing call-in information will be included with the posted December 14, 2020, City Council Agenda packet. Agenda packets are posted at the following link: https://my.spokanecity.org/citycouncil/documents/. The public may also submit written comment as noted above.
Comments from agencies, City departments and the public are due January 22, 2020, at 4:00 P.M. or may be submitted at the Public Hearing.
Following the public hearing, the Plan Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council which will hold a second public hearing. When the date has been scheduled for the City Council public hearing, a second Notice of Public Hearing will be posted and mailed (similar to the first Notice of Public Hearing). This notice will contain the date, time and location of the City Council public hearing. Written comments and oral testimony at both the Plan Commission and City Council public hearings for this proposed action will be made part of the public record.
