Application/Permit Number: Z16-046CUP3
615 S. Thor, the northeast corner of Thor and Hartson
Spokane Alcoholism Care
The applicant is proposing to tear down an existing community detox facility and construct a new 16-bed short term community detox facility for those affected by drug addiction. A portion of the building will be two stories, while the other portion will be one-story. The applicant is proposing 5 parking spaces. This use is classified as Group Living. In the RTF Zone, Group Living uses with more than 12 residents require a Conditional Use Permit.
The applicant already has approval for up to 20 residents, which was discovered after the applicant applied for this Conditional Use Permit. The applicant will still be tearing down the existing structure and building a new one, consistent with the submitted plans, but the reconstruction does not require a conditional use permit, only a building permit. Please read the information below, which describes the cancelled public hearing.
Notice is hereby given that the applicant for this proposal has withdrawn their application. It was discovered that the property received a special permit for up to 20 residents in 1987 and 1988 and therefore already has permission for the proposed 16 residents as indicated in this application.
Prior to discovering this special permit, a public hearing was scheduled for March 24th at 9:00am. That hearing has been canceled as the applicant is withdrawing their application due to the 1987 and 1988 special permit approvals.
