Division Street Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (at Everett, Longfellow and Weile)

Project Description: Install pedestrian hybrid beacons (crossing signals) at three uncontrolled crosswalks on Division.

Install Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons with overhead lighting and communication equipment. Make the locations functional and accessible for cyclists using Rhoades-Weile, Everett and Longfellow as a through bike route. Meet timeframe to get 100% construction funding. The scope of the project includes the activities listed below.

  • Acquire right-of-way as needed to provide a good bike connection (wider than 6' sidewalk).
  • Rebuild/relocate refuge islands as best fits the design.
  • Coordinate with WSDOT Eastern Region traffic for intersection plans for approval and signal permits.
  • Install Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons with overhead lighting and communication equipment. Trenching was included in the estimate.

  • Division/Longfellow, Division/Everett and Division/Rhodes-Weile

Crews will be in the area during the scheduled time frame. All schedules are approximate and dependent on weather and unforeseen delays. Once the contract has been awarded, contractors will be responsible for setting and maintaining the schedule for the work to be done. If you have questions regarding the construction schedule or the work being done, please contact the contractor’s public representative. Contractors are required to provide two business day’s notice to a homeowner/business if the homeowner/business owner’s property will be directly impacted by the work. This includes access issues. The contractor will do its best to minimize impacts on the public, but unforeseen circumstances may result in the need to temporarily revise traffic restrictions. For everyone’s safety, please obey all traffic signs.
