Project Description

The Pacific Avenue Greenway creates an east-west bike route from Howard Street to Sherman Street, improving pedestrian safety and connecting downtown Spokane to the University District. Enhancements include bike lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, green space, and signal updates.

Key Objectives

  • East-West Bike Route: Accessible link between downtown and south University District.
  • Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety: Striped bike lanes and enhanced crossings at major intersections including traffic signals at Division, Browne Streets and pedestrian flashing beacons at Washington and Sherman Streets.
  • Greenway Elements: Bump-outs, possible planters and barriers to discourage mid-block crossings.
  • Streetscape Improvements: Collaborate with University District PDA for green spaces and tree planting.

Construction Estimate: $5 million
