Project Description
Spokane School Walk Routes project that will increase pedestrian safety with crossing treatments, sidewalk infill, bumpouts, and ADA curb ramp improvements for children, parents and staff walking to and from school.
Locations
The schools include:
- Audubon Elementary: Sidewalk infill on Belt Street from Montgomery to Jackson Avenues; striped crosswalks on Belt at Carlisle, Carlisle at Cannon, and Jackson at Cannon, 20 mph school zone signs placed around the school perimeter and ADA wheelchair compliant curb ramps, where needed.

- Browne Elementary: Striped crosswalks on Greenwood at Olympic, Queen and Olympic near Upper Driscoll, and Driscoll at Queen and Olympic and ADA wheelchair compliant curb ramps, where needed.

- Garfield Elementary: Striped crosswalk on Buckeye at Normandie, Washinton at Mansfield, Howard at Mansfield, Mansfield at Calispel and Normandie, Knox at Calispel and Normandie, and on Knox at Calispel and Normandie, curb bumpouts at the corners at the striped crosswalk at Mansfield and Washington, 20 mph school zone signs around school perimeter, and ADA wheelchair compliant curb ramps, where necessary.

- Indian Trail Elementary: Striped crosswalks on Sutherlin at Weile, Weile at Valerie, and Woodside and Drumheller, curb bumpout near the Weile and Sutherlin crosswalk, and 20 mph school zone signs on Sutherlin and Woodside.

- Logan Elementary and Yasuhara Middle School: Sidewalk infill on Marietta from Hamilton to Nevada and from Columbus to Morton, Morton along Logan Peace Park, curb bumpouts at Nevada at Jackson and Carlisle, striped crosswalks on Carlisle at Nevada and Columbus, Marietta at Morton, and Perry at Jackson, and 20 mph school zone signs around school perimeter.
