Join us for an exciting day of competition and camaraderie in our martial arts community. The Spokane Submission Challenge is dedicated to creating a strong reputation and ensuring a safe, fair, and practical tournament for all participants.

Event Details:

  • Registration: Competitors will be matched for optimal matchups. If there aren’t enough athletes registered, you will be placed in the most suitable group. Note: Younger competitors cannot be matched with groups more than 10lbs or 2 years above their category without parental consent.
  • Time Limits:
    • Adults (18+): 5 minutes (1-minute overtime) for both Gi & No-Gi.
    • Youth (17 & under): 3 minutes (1-minute overtime) for both Gi & No-Gi. Overtime decisions will be made by the referee based on control and submission attempts.
  • Weigh-ins: All competitors must weigh in on the day of the event, 45 minutes before it starts, within a 30-minute window.
  • Overtime: In the event of a tie, a 1-minute overtime will be held where the first competitor to score wins. Scoring is based on control within specified positions.
  • Submissions: Our main priority is competitor safety, and any submissions deemed unsafe will be stopped immediately by officials. A list of illegal submissions will be provided to ensure a fair competition for everyone.
