At 2145 hours on Saturday, February 29th, 2020, fire crews from Spokane City Fire and Spokane Fire District 9 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located at the intersection of Driscoll Blvd & Bismark Place in north Spokane.

Crews arrived on scene and found the driver of one vehicle trapped behind the steering wheel of her vehicle. As the initial crew worked to stabilize the patient and treat her injuries they summoned additional crews from City Fire and Fire District 9 to assist. Upon arrival, firefighters rapidly deployed heavy extrication equipment from Fire District 9's apparatus. Working jointly with SFD fire crews they quickly removed the drivers door from the damaged vehicle. Removal of the vehicle door allowed fire and AMR ambulance crews to free the driver and move her directly to the waiting ambulance for transport to an area hospital.

At the conclusion of the call, the Spokane Police Department remained on scene investigating the accident.
