Incendiary Vehicle Fires in North Spokane

The Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to several early morning fires in the North Spokane area around NorthTown Mall. SFD responded to five separate reports of fire between 02:30 AM and 07:00 AM.

The first incident, reported at 02:30 AM was near Division & Crown with two vehicles on fire. The second incident at 03:34 AM was near the 200-blk of Crown with two vehicles on fire that extended into a shed. At 03:38 AM, a vehicle was extinguished by security at the NorthTown Mall. At 03:40 AM, Spokane Police Department (SPD) and Spokane County Fire District 9 located a small quickly-extinguished fire at the Bank of America at Division & Wellesley and also at the Body by Biju on Division. There were no injuries to either citizens, police officers, or firefighters.

A total of six vehicles, one shed, and two structures were involved. The nature of these fires are incendiary. The fires are being investigated by SPD and SFD's Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
