At approximately 4:20 am Wednesday, the Spokane Fire Department responded to the 2800 block of East Marshall Avenue to a report of a detached garage fire.
Spokane Engine 8 was initially dispatched on a smoke investigation but could see a large smoke column and upgraded to a full response structure fire. Spokane Engine 8 arrived just minutes after dispatch and reported a heavily involved detached garage with numerous vehicles burning inside. Crews completed a quick search of the garage to ensure no one was inside.
Five fire apparatus, along with 17 firefighters, responded to fight the fire. The fire was contained and extinguished within 5 minutes of units arriving on the scene. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. There is significant fire damage to the garage and both vehicles parked inside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Spokane Fire Department's Special Investigation Unit.
