On February 24, 2023, at 10:38 PM, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) swiftly responded to a 911 report of a potential house fire on the 4600 North block of Whitehouse Street. The first arriving fire companies reported moderate smoke emanating from the front and sides of a one-and-one-half-story home.

Upon entering the building, firefighters discovered a working fire in a back bedroom. They quickly contained the fire to the room of origin and extinguished it, preventing its spread to the rest of the structure. In a rapid and efficient manner, firefighters searched the entire building to ensure that all occupants had evacuated.

Within five minutes of a full alarm arriving, the fire was fully contained and extinguished. Thankfully, no civilians or firefighters were reported injured during the incident. Currently, the Spokane Fire Special Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
