Man rescued from Spokane River

10 a.m. - The Spokane Fire Department responded to a report of a man in the Spokane River. The victim was successfully rescued and brought to shore.

Second Avenue work begins Tuesday

1:14 p.m. - Work to install vaults and conduit begins Sept. 3 for a downtown fiber network, slowing traffic on Second Ave. and Stevens St. for up to two weeks.

School's in session, drive safely

Most park restrooms to close September 3

11:01 a.m. - Restrooms in most City of Spokane parks will close for the season on Tuesday, September 3, the day after Labor Day.

3:56 p.m. - In observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 2, City Hall will be closed along with other City facilities.

2:13 p.m. - Elected officials were briefed today on a new study on solid waste transfer and disposal options that was completed by the consulting firm HDR.

Alert citizen helps catch burglar

1 p.m. - Help from an alert citizen who called 911 and the Spokane Police Department's Crime Analysis Unit lead to the arrest of Paul J Reinhart.
