Construction to Begin on 1 Million Gallon Tank to Reduce Combined Sewer Overflows to River

The Spokane City Council will host an ‘Economic Development Summit' in the City Council Chambers on Sept. 24 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. The summit will air on Channel 5 on Oct. 2 at 1 p.m., Oct. 5 at 12 p.m., Oct. 9 at 11:30 a.m., Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m., and Oct. 20 at 11 a.m.

Chaired by Councilman Mike Allen and Councilman Steve Salvatori, organizations which promote small business and economic development have been invited to the summit. “We wanted a forum for the community to receive an update on organizations driving economic development in our city” said Councilman Mike Allen.

“We hope to create an annual event to exhibit the progress key organizations are making in our community,” said Councilman Salvatori. “I hope in the subsequent years, we will see the participant list expand.”

Participants include: Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP), Impact Capital, Eastern Washington University, Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs (SNAP), McKinstry, Innovate Washington, Health Sciences & Service Authority (HSSA), Connect Northwest & Spokane Angel Alliance, Spokane Valley Chamber Commerce, Avista, Whitworth, Greater Spokane Incorporated (GSI), Spokane Neighborhood Economic Development Alliance (SNEDA), Spokane County, Inland TechStart Board, Visit Spokane, Washington State University (Riverpoint) and SCORE.
