The City of Spokane and Spokane County will hold the first in a series of collaborate meetings on Monday to establish parameters on how each plans for growth and regional development.
The meeting, which is part of the Joint Development Agreement signed last month, will begin at 9 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting is planned as an information sharing meeting and is open to the public. Public testimony is planned for subsequent meetings.
Topics will include development regulations, utility service, transportation infrastructure, revenue sharing, joint service areas and related federal, state and local policy considerations. Discussions will focus only on the City’s utility service area.
The City and County have shared several recent collaborations on common community interests. The approach has served both well with animal control, solid waste and is proceeding positively in evolving the criminal justice system.
