A community conversation planned for next week will seek input and feedback on the proposal to provide sustainable funding for street improvements and invest in Riverfront Park.
City resident will be able to join the discussion on June 26 at 6 p.m. over the phone, in person, online and on television. The City will host a simultaneous telephone town hall and traditional town hall discussion in the City Council Chambers. Citizens can also participate @SpokaneCity on Facebook and Twitter. City Cable 5 will broadcast the entire evening live.
“We have visited several neighborhoods over the past few weeks to hear from the community about what they like and what would make the proposal better,” said Mayor David Condon.
Thousands of City residents will be contacted on June 26 and invited to participate by phone. City residents can also opt in toll free by calling 855.312.2107 between 6 and 7 p.m.
The City has proposed a strategic refinancing plan to provide $25 million annually for street improvements and $60 million for Riverfront Park. The plan would also retire current streets and parks debt all for the same 91 cents per thousand City residents currently pay.
The June 26 community conversation is the next installment in an ongoing series of telephone town hall discussions over the past two years to gather input on community priorities.
