The Friends of Manito fundraiser needs an accurate head count for this coming Sunday Picnic for the Pond. So, TODAY, July 15, is the deadline for purchasing tickets.

Picnic for the Pond features a catered dinner, live music, and silent auction, Sunday, July 20, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in lower Manito Park at the Rotary picnic shelter. All proceeds will be designated to improve the water quality and landscaping of Mirror Pond.

Tickets

  • Adult dinner tickets are $30.
  • Kid’s dinner tickets (ages 6 to 16) are $15.
  • Children 5 and under eat FREE (must be accompanied by one adult with a dinner ticket)

Purchase tickets on the TFM website at Friends of Manito. Tickets are also available in the TFM Office at 4 West 21st Avenue in Manito Park, or call the office at 456.8038. Deadline to purchase tickets is July 15th. Tickets will not be available the day of the event.

Menu Includes

  • Meat: Hamburger, Chicken Breast, Hot Dog, German Sausage (veggie burgers are also available upon request)
  • Sides: Tossed Green Salad, Potato Salad, Baked Beans and chips
  • Drinks: 12 oz pop (4 flavors) one per person
  • Condiments: Sliced cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle slices, ketchup, mustard and relish
  • Dessert: watermelon

About The Friends of Manito

The Friends of Manito (TFM) is a non-profit 501 3(c) organization that supports Manito Park in Spokane, Washington by providing funds to improve the park. The Friends of Manito has contributed over $700,000 to Manito Park, funding over 60 projects including the lower playground equipment, the Duncan Garden gazebo, the Rose Garden pergolas, the upper park sprinkler system, the “Walk of Hope” sidewalk, and most of the park sign-age. Recent completed projects include the picnic shelter at the upper Manito playground, the south sidewalk, hosta gardens near the Park Bench Cafe, expansion of the Shoshone entrance to the Nishinomiya-Tsutakawa Japanese Garden, the Tekeo terrace wall, shoreline improvements to Mirror Pond and improved water quality.
