The City of Spokane has begun its regularly scheduled leaf pickup.

Leaf pickup occurs in Browns Addition the next two days, 9 a.m., Tuesday November 18 through Wednesday, November 19. Cars must be moved off of the street. Cars not moved will be towed as needed.

Tuesday's leaf pick up route will be the north/south route which includes the area south of Riverside Avenue and north of 2nd Avenue/Sunset Boulevard.

Wednesday's leaf pickup schedule will be the east/west route which includes the area west of Maple Street and east of Coeur d'Alene Street.

In the event of snow, leaf pick up will stop and then continue when weather allows.

Being aware of the leaf pickup schedule is key to a successful pickup experience. Knowing when crews are in your area and removing vehicles from the streets ensures your neighborhood is cleared of as many leaves as possible.

Pickup times are as follows for the different areas (See the general leaf pickup media release for a detailed neighborhood leaf pickup schedule)

  • Loadal Crews: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Packer Crews: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Hand Pick Crews after 10 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. Day work may occur if crews are available.

There are many options available to people for disposal of the leaves that have fallen into their yards:

  • Leaves placed in the green yard waste carts, will be collected through the end of the month, Friday, Nov. 30.
  • Leaves can also be taken to the waste-to-energy facility or one of the solid waste transfer stations.
  • Compost leaves.
