Governor Jay Inslee has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Wednesday, April 15 in remembrance of President Abraham Lincoln.

The Governor’s proclamation is as follows:

Governor Inslee hereby directs that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, for a Day of Remembrance for President Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, and died on April 15.

Flags should remain at half-staff until the end of the day on April 15 or first thing Thursday morning, April 16, 2015.

Please notify your staff and all of your field offices and facilities around the state.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
