43rd Avenue from Grand Blvd to Garfield Street will be closed starting Monday, July 20, for the next 40 working days. Major work in the area includes the installation of a 200,000 gallon combined sewer overflow (CSO) tank between Scott and Garfield.

The project will improve water and stormwater pipes. Street improvements include:

  • new pavement
  • bike lanes
  • sidewalks
  • traffic calmingĀ
  • And a much needed pedestrian crossing Refuge Island near Hatch Street and Rocket Market.

During this project, Rocket Market on 43rd Avenue will remain OPEN for business. Construction is difficult at best for small businesses, so customers are encouraged to continue patronage of this local neighborhood shop during the road closure.
