Wall Street Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) work begins, Monday, Aug. 10.  Work will begin on Wall Street between Spokane Falls Boulevard and the Main Street intersection. This project is part of the City’s efforts to get to a cleaner river faster.

The project includes roadway removal, repaving, sewer main installation, and clean water main installation.

Beginning Monday, the following closures can be expected:

Monday to late October

Wall Street from Main Street to Spokane Falls Boulevard

Monday to Wednesday, Aug. 19

Main Street from Post Street to Howard Street; Post Street northbound from Riverside to Main Avenue

The recommended north south travel routes are Lincoln Street and Howard Street. The recommended east west travel routes are Riverside and Spokane Falls Boulevard.

Main Street is anticipated to reopen Thursday, Aug. 20. Contractor crews will work through the weekend in an effort to have Main Street open sooner.

There will be no vehicle access during the closure. On-street parking will also not be available.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Construction is always difficult for residents and businesses. We ask citizens for their patience as work on Wall Street temporarily restricts vehicle access in this area. Construction in this area may produce more noise due to the rock material present in this section of Wall Street.
