"Barge" cleanup in Spokane River coming next week

2:30 p.m. - City of Spokane and partners have put together a “barge cleanup” to remove larger pieces of garbage in the river between Division & Hamilton streets.

Work begins on new memorial at Spokane Arena

Noon - The Illuminating Courage monument will feature the names of fallen heroes from Washington state Post 9/11 to the present.

Flags to fly half-staff on Friday for 9/11

4:08 p.m. - Spokane Mayor David Condon has directed that state and U.S. flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff on Friday, Sept. 11.
