Spokane Mayor David Condon has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff, effective immediately, to honor of the victims of last week’s tragedy in Roseburg, Ore. Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

“I wanted to offer the support of the Spokane community to those grieving in Roseburg, Oregon,” said Condon. “What happened on the Umpqua Community College campus was an absolute tragedy. Our condolences go out to the families who lost loved ones and we wish those who were injured a full and speedy recovery.”

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
