Spokane City Council members have narrowed the applicant pool to seven for the Council position left vacant after the resignation of Jon Snyder earlier this month.

The Council will be interviewing the following candidates in a meeting open to the public on Feb. 3 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: John Waite, Todd Beyreuther, Breean Beggs, Blaine Stum, Patricia Hansen, Phillip Tyler, and Asher Ernst.

“We received 22 applications and every single one of the applicants is more than qualified to serve the citizens of Spokane on the Council. I hope all applicants will continue to engage with the Council and look for ways to serve the citizens of Spokane in some capacity in the future,” said Council President Ben Stuckart.

The City Council will vote to appoint the new Council Member on Feb. 8 during its regularly scheduled legislative session.
