Spokane attorney Laura McAloon, a public finance and municipal law expert who has assisted the city on financial, tax and land use matters and helped facilitate the independent review of recent personnel matters, has withdrawn her name from consideration as the next city attorney.

McAloon explained her decision in a letter she delivered to Spokane Mayor David Condon and City Council members today.

“I am disappointed that a highly qualified professional feels so discouraged about serving our community,” Condon said.
