City building and plumbing inspectors will receive code update training on Accessibility and Usability requirement for residential Facilities using the 2015 International Building Code on Friday, Dec. 16th, 2016.

As a result, building and plumbing inspectors will not be available on that day. Electrical and mechanical inspectors and inspections, however, will be available Dec. 16.

Information from the course will help City inspectors properly enforce codes and work effectively with contractors, tradesmen, homeowners, and design professionals.

“Keeping abreast of International Code Updates is paramount to an inspectors task to ensure new construction and remodels comply with the latest techniques for safety and handicap accessibility,” said Dan Skindzier, Inspector Supervisor. “Classroom seminars such as this provide an opportunity for code officials, architects, and contractors to experience a common interpretation of the codes and have meaningful discussions.”

All City Inspectors and Plan Examiners will earn continuing education credits toward certification requirements from this training.
