On behalf of the City, Avista plans to draw the Upper Falls Reservoir down 1.5’ beginning Wednesday, May 24 to accommodate redevelopment at Riverfront Park.  The draw down is anticipated to last until June 12, 2017.

The City’s Parks division is developing property adjacent to the river at the Looff Carrousel site, and is preparing to place concrete foundations for the related boardwalk.

City Parks made the request to Avista, who consulted with the Washington Department of Ecology and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Both agencies have concurred with the drawdown, and Avista has notified the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by phone and in writing that they plan to accommodate the City's request.

Redevelopment details are at RiverfrontParkNow.com.
