Community members are invited to a special meeting of the Spokane Public Schools Board of Directors and the Spokane City Council Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Centennial Ballrooms 300 C\D at the Spokane Convention Center (see attached map).
The purpose of this special meeting is to review, discuss and consider adoption of bond resolutions related to city and school district facility improvement projects proposed for a November election. Public comment regarding the partnership propositions will be taken during a public hearing at the meeting before discussion and action by the City Council and School Board.
The City Council also will hold a public hearing on a separate bond proposal for the November ballot that would include City participation in a sports stadium in a central location on the North Bank, new playfields at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex, and other recreational investments. This hearing will be held as part of the Council’s regular legislative meeting on Monday, July 30, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers in the lower level of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
