The City of Spokane launched a Bikeshare pilot program in September and is gathering information from citizens to help determine whether the City should have a permanent bikeshare program and how it should be structured.

Citizens are invited to learn more about bikeshare and provide feedback at a public open house:

  • Date: Wednesday, Oct. 24
  • Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Location: Second Floor Rotunda, STA Plaza, 701 W. Riverside Ave.

Bikeshare essentially is a collection of bikes – and in some cases, scooters – available to be checked out and used for trips for a small rental fee. For the Spokane pilot program, bikeshare company, Lime, has offered bikes, electric-assist bikes, and electric scooters for rent. In about the last five weeks, 25,000 riders have taken nearly 74,000 rides on a bikeshare bike or scooters.

More information on bikeshare and the pilot program is found on the City’s web site. Citizens can also provide information to the City on bikeshare through an online survey.
