On August 13, 2019 just after 6 p.m. Security from JC Penny’s at NorthTown called to report that a shoplifter just pulled a gun on them. They gave a good description of the male (Pilon) and advised which was he was running. Pilon ran east through the parking lot and into the neighborhood. A couple patrol Officers were already in the area. They located Pilon about a block away from the mall and took him into custody. Pilon was in possession of a realistic looking handgun, which was in a holster. He was also in possession of Methamphetamine, stolen credit cards and had 3 warrants for his arrest.

During the investigation Officers were told that Pilon was attempting to shoplift numerous items from JC Penny’s. He was confronted at the doors by security and asked to come back into the store. Pilon the reached into his waist band area and security advised that it looked like he was trying to pull a handgun out of the holster, but was not able to pull it out. That’s when Pilon ran from the store and was detained. Officers on scene attempted to pull the gun from the holster and noted how difficult it was to remove as well, as if it was jammed or stuck in the holster.

Pilon was ultimately booked for his warrants which included 2 Theft warrants and a DOC warrant from possessing a stolen vehicle. He was also booked for 1st Robbery, Possession of stolen property 2nd (Credit cards) and possession of Methamphetamine.

Pilon’s criminal convictions include Possession of a stolen vehicle, Money Laundering and 4 counts of possession of a controlled substance.
