On October 8, 2019, the Spokane Police Department responded to a welfare check in northeast Spokane reference a missing female, identified as Courtney Holden. The reporting party and other friends and neighbors told police that they had not seen Courtney in over a year. The patrol officers that initially responded to the call noted Ms. Holden’s family were not fully cooperative with law enforcement’s attempts to locate her, especially considering it appeared she had been missing for over a year.
The report was forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit for further investigation which has been ongoing since that time. Detectives determined that Courtney lived with her adoptive family at the residence in northeast Spokane, but have only been able to approximate the last time Courtney was seen in person was sometime in April of 2018.
Despite several attempts by detectives to learn more about Courtney’s disappearance, Courtney’s adoptive mother and brother are not cooperating with the investigation. The investigation revealed multiple acts of deception and other criminal activity including custodial interference issues and identity theft. In December 2019, Courtney’s adoptive mother and brother were located in Texas and arrested on local charges related to this case. Courtney Holden’s current whereabouts are still unknown.
The Major Crimes Unit is asking for anyone with any information or recent contact with Courtney Holden to come forward.
Courtney C Holden is a white female, age 27, with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5’06” tall and 160 lbs. See attached photo.
