The City of Spokane Water Department today is launching a menu of Water Wise rebate options to help customers save money while saving water. The rebate opportunities are outlined in the Water Conservation Master Plan, which was adopted by City Council at the end of July.

The new rebates are designed to allow customers to make choices that lead to water savings inside and outside their home or business and provide a cost-effective tool to do so. Rebates range from $20 to $695, dependent on the equipment installed, and customers are encouraged to apply for more than one rebate annually.

Residential water customers can receive rebates on high efficiency toilets ($100 credit) and low-flow showerheads ($20 credit), smart irrigation controllers ($100 credit) and sprinkler nozzles ($40 credit). Commercial and multi-family customers are eligible to apply for toilet ($100 credit), irrigation controller ($500 credit), sprinkler nozzles ($200 credit), and cooling tower controller rebates ($695 credit). The new menu of rebates is available in addition to the SpokaneScape Turf Replacement program which credits customers up to $500 for replacing turf with drought tolerant plantings and mulch.

Customers can apply for one or all of the rebates online. To qualify, equipment must be WaterSense® certified and purchased after April 1, 2020. The rebate will appear as a credit on a customer’s utility bill. For more information and program rules, visit WaterWiseSpokane.org, email waterwise@spokanecity.com, or call 509-625-7800.
