The City of Spokane completed work in the afternoon hours of Sunday, Jan. 9, on the Full-City Plow initiated on Thursday, Jan. 6. The plow effort met the City’s time goal of completing a full plow in three days. Accessing various Public Works equipment and personnel contributed to meeting the goal of plowing 2,200 lane miles of City streets. This is the second full-City effort within 10 days.
“The significant volume of snow followed by rain and warmer temperatures presented a challenging environment for crews,” says Clint Harris, Streets Director. “I am proud of the team effort of Public Works departments with back-to-back major events.”
City snow crews remain in winter operations, working seven days a week monitoring weather and street conditions. Pothole crews began working Friday and will be enhanced now that the full-City plow is completed to do repairs. Residents and motorists can contact 3-1-1 on the mobile app or by phone to report potholes or streets that may have been missed being plowed.
