Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward has directed that all flags at City facilities be lowered to half-staff to coincide with President Joseph R. Biden’s directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered in remembrance of U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski.

“We are saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Rep. Jackie Walorski, who proudly served the people of Indiana as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Indiana House of Representatives,” said Mayor Nadine Woodward. “We are keeping her loved ones in our thoughts and prayers and honoring her service and memory by lowering our flags.”

Rep. Walorski was killed in a car accident on Wednesday, Aug. 3 in Elkhart County. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Thursday, Aug. 4.
