Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward has directed that all flags at City facilities be lowered to half-staff to coincide with Governor Jay Inslee’s directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered in remembrance of U.S. Rep. Donald McEachin.

“We are saddened by loss of Rep. Donald McEachin, who proudly served the people of Virginia as a member of the U.S. House of Representative, Virginia Senate, and Virginia House of Delegates,” said Mayor Nadine Woodward. “We are keeping his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers and honoring his service and memory by lowering our flags.”

Rep. McEachin died from complications of colorectal cancer on Monday, Nov. 28. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 30.
