Mayor Nadine Woodward communicated today to City employees that the investigation Human Resources was conducting in consultation with outside legal counsel has closed and that the city administrator has resigned. Woodward’s message to employees reads in part:

“At the time the investigation closed, there was evidence that the city administrator violated the city’s sexual harassment policy. The behavior detailed in the report is unacceptable, and today I accepted his resignation effective immediately.

The employees who came forward placed a great deal of trust in me that the concerns they raised would be taken seriously even when they involve an individual at the highest level of the organization. The employees showed courage and a belief in our policies and processes that we would do the right thing.”

Woodward will address the situation further on Friday.
