Spokane Mayor David Condon, following a declaration by President Donald Trump, has directed that United States and Washington State flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Feb. 9, 2019, in memory of former Rep. John David Dingell Jr., of Michigan. Rep. Dingell was the longest serving member of Congress in our nation’s history.

“Rep. John David Dingell served our nation in Congress for 59 years; it’s an honor to recognize such long-standing service and dedication to our nation,” says Mayor Condon.

Other government entities, citizens, and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
