Help name the new plaza

We need your help. The new plaza outside of City Hall that Avista built opened today.

The plaza – and the views – are stunning. And it needs a name.

We are looking for ideas that honor, depict and celebrate Spokane. We are looking for inclusiveness, timelessness and originality. Think about what you want to communicate, what makes you want to congregate and what makes Spokane celebrate.

Submitting an idea is simple. Visit the plaza. Write your proposed name on a piece of paper. Snap a photo of yourself holding the sign, and post it to @spokanecity on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Explain in the copy the significance of your suggestion, what it means to you and its relevance to Spokane. Or, you can submit a 15-second video. You have until May 31.

Emailing your photo and explanation to mayor@spokanecity.org works fine too. Submissions will also be accepted at My Spokane service desk or any City Council meeting during May.
