City’s drinking water meets all quality standards

Each year, the City of Spokane's Water Department provides an annual report on the quality of the drinking water delivered to our customers. For 2013, as in previous years, the City met or exceeded all federal and state drinking water standards.

We strive to provide safe, clean drinking water to our customers at a reasonable price. Drinking water is an essential service and plays a vital role in protecting public health and safety and supporting community growth.

The City operates the third largest water system in the state of Washington. Only Seattle and Tacoma have larger systems. Beneath our City streets is a network of water pipes that delivers water from the City's wells to every home and business within the current water service area. The City maintains about 1,000 miles of water mains and smaller water lines.

The City's Water Quality Report for 2013 is available here. Citizens also may request a mailed copy by calling the Water Department at 509.625.7800 and providing a current address.
