SFD supports the Twin Towers Commemorative 5k Run

September 11 is a day that has come to symbolize our nation's ability to come together to help each other in remembrance of first responders and citizens lost in an unforgettable tragedy.

As a way to honor the firefighters, first responders, veterans, and citizens who responded on 9/11, the Spokane Fire Department became founding supporters of the Twin Towers Commemorative 5k Run. The goal of the event is to “bring awareness, thanks, and help to firefighters, veterans, and other first responders.” The run gives back to the community and all net proceeds are donated to local charities, including the Spokane Firefighters Benevolent Fund, Minutemen Emergency Assistance Fund, and Camp Eyabsut.

We encourage citizens to come together as a community to show their support for first responders by running or walking in the 5k run on Sunday, September 28.

  • Opening Ceremony: 9 a.m.
  • Run/Walk: 9:15 a.m.
  • Register for $25 before September 17 or $35 after September 17
