Flags lowered in remembrance of 9/11

Every September 11th marks a solemn remembrance for our nation. Today, we honor those who were lost on Sept. 11, 2001 along with the emergency workers who responded to the tragedy.

Governor of Washington Jay Inslee has directed that Washington state and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff for national Patriot Day, the annual memorial to the victims of the 2001 attacks.

You'll see flags remain at half-staff until the close of the business day Thursday. Some may stay lowered until Friday morning.

If there is a flag outside your business or home, please join us in this recognition. Together, we will never forget.
