On the tenth day of the 12 Days of Giving Spokane – Give Health Care day – the City and Walgreens are kicking off a program to offer vaccinations at no cost to patients. People who are underinsured or without insurance altogether can get flu shots and other Center for Disease Control-recommended immunizations.
Starting today, Walgreens locations in Spokane can administer vaccines for pneumonia, whooping cough, chicken pox, shingles, MMR, meningitis and influenza to individuals who qualify for the no-cost vaccines. You don't have to schedule an appointment. The immunizations are available at Walgreens during their regular pharmacy hours.
Walgreens is helping the City improve the health of our community. The program is making vaccines more accessible, especially for local families in need. This is yet another example of the Spokane community – its individuals, nonprofits, and businesses alike - stepping up and showing just how compassionate it is.
