Fire Station 5 Set To Open

Brian Schaeffer, Assistant Chief, No Phone Number Available

A new fire station will give neighbors in southwest Spokane the peace of mind knowing that help is close by should they need it. Beginning in May, Station 5 will serve the Qualchan and Eagle Ridge areas.

Calls for service have been growing in neighborhoods like those in southwest Spokane, especially medical calls. Medical calls account for 87 percent of total emergency calls citywide when you include auto accidents. When you are the one that needs help, seconds seem like hours.

Opening Station 5 gives the Spokane Fire Department a temporary solution to get the right resources to the right place at the right time. The new station is located at the former Eagle Ridge information center at 115 W. Eagle Ridge Blvd, a central location for the area. Meanwhile, we continue to search for a long-term solution near Highway 195 and Cheney Spokane Road to serve residents of southwest Spokane.
