More Improvements for the East Central Neighborhood

Last summer, the City of Spokane was able to build a combined sewer overflow (CSO) tank near Underhill Park. While working on this CSO tank our construction, crews used Hartson Avenue as their main service route. The street was chosen because it already had significant amount of wear and tear damage. By using Hartson as our main service route we were able to minimize damage to other streets throughout the East Central neighborhood. Now, this summer we will be rebuilding Hartson Avenue from Altamont Street to Fiske Street.

The Hartson project will include replacement of water lines in the streets from Altamont to Fiske. Also, crews will rebuild the full depth roadway section of traveled way, fill in sidewalk gaps, replace curbs where needed and install ADA-compliant curb ramps.

We encourage the public to join us at our weekly construction meetings every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at East Central Community Center, 500 South Stone Street.
