Return to a World of Light!

The Washington State Chinese Lantern Festival returns to Riverfront Park – a celebration of Chinese culture and light. This year, the Lantern Festival opens on Friday, September 16, 2016, and will run through Sunday, October 30, 2016.

Ticket prices are lower this year, and the event features 30 new displays along with some returning favorites.

With redevelopment of Riverfront Park underway, the main entrance will be located on Havermale Island, just north of the South Howard Street pedestrian bridge (currently closed). We suggest that visitors to the Chinese Lantern Festival enter Riverfront Park at the north entrance near the butterfly. There is plenty of parking nearby.

The festival will be open 7 days a week, from 5 p.m.10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 5 p.m.11 p.m. on Fridays & Saturdays.

There will also be two performances every night at 6:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and at 7 p.m. & 9 p.m. on Fridays & Saturdays.

Ticket pricing is as follows:

  • Kids 3 & under are FREE
  • Children (ages 4 - 15) $10
  • Adults (ages 16 & older) $15
  • Family Pass (2 children & 2 adults) $40
  • Festival Pass $60
