Happy Giving Tuesday! Spokane is a very compassionate community and the City is asking our citizens to continue to show their compassion this Giving Tuesday.
The City of Spokane is focused on helping those experiencing homelessness. Help those in our community by donating to the Everybody Counts donation drive or the Give Real Change program.
Everybody Counts is an annual donation drive for those experiencing homelessness. We are looking for a variety of donations everything from toiletry items to warm clothing to nonperishable food items.
This year our donation drive will include taking care of the animals in our community as well! Pet owners experiencing homelessness are less likely to report symptoms of depression and loneliness than those experiencing homelessness that do not own pets. View a full list of donations needed and drop off locations.
There are multiple ways to contribute to the Everybody Counts donation drive. Donations are accepted at our 16 donation dropoff locations. Financial contributions via My Spokane 311 can donate by calling 3-1-1 or in person at the My Spokane 311 desk. You can also contribute by buying items from our Everybody Counts Amazon wish list! These items will be delivered directly to City Hall. The City of Spokane will continue to accept donations until Monday, Jan. 14.
Giving to programs allows someone to know exactly where the donation is helping those experiencing homeless. The Give Real Change program works with community-based service providers to administer coordinated shelter, outreach, job placement and training, and other services for people who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness. The program works to help coordinate housing and other resources. The Give Real Change Program helps people look at giving in a different and better way. Orange Give Real Change meters around the City accept cash or change donations. My Spokane 311 accepts donations in person at the My Spokane 311 desk or over the phone by calling 3-1-1. You can also donate online through your City utility bill!
