If your job depends on tourism, then you will be glad to know Visit Spokane is serving up some good news about your future.

In June of 2020, Spokane is hosting a national travel and tourism conference, which means; the movers and shakers, who tell the rest of the world where to go on vacation, will be scoping out what Spokane has to offer.

Because of a lot of hard work, Spokane makes a good first impression on our visitors.

After stand-up comedian Marc Maron traveled to Spokane for a gig at the Comedy Club, Maron took to the airwaves to brag on our city.

On his podcast, that has 300,000 listeners, Maron high-fived Spokane for its beauty, food, entertainment and welcoming vibes.

An edited version of Maron’s observations is contained in the video above.

Maron concluded his soliloquy by declaring, “Spokane is a #$&*ing great town”.

Spokane is a great town. So much so, that Maron has agreed to be the keynote speaker at next summer’s PRSA Travel and Tourism conference.

Why should you care?

In 2018, visitors spent $1.3 billion dollars in Spokane generating more than $ 1million in local tax revenue.

That’s money coming from outside our area that, in turn, helps pay for the local city-supplied services we all rely on.

So, get ready Spokane. Next June, we have some important guests coming to town and those visiting travel writers could help us attract some more money-toting tourist to our area.
