The City of Spokane in partnership with Spokane Hoopfest Association (Hoopfest), is renovating the existing sport courts at Underhill Park in the East Central neighborhood of Spokane. The goal of the project is to improve usability and convert use to better meet current demand for court sports. This project will redevelop and resurface the two existing basketball courts and convert and existing unused tennis court into pickleball courts with a multi-use acrylic surface. Basketball courts will be completely replaced and lengthened, existing basketball hoops, backboards, and nets will be replaced to increase the attractiveness of open and competitive youth activities. The tennis court will be relocated and converted into two new pickleball courts to accommodate the growing demand for pickleball in the Spokane region. Other improvements include new sport court area lighting, sidewalks, fencing, and site furniture such as benches and bike racks. ADA accessibility improvements will allow access to the courts for people of all ages and abilities.
